Welcome to Pitts Chapel, we are delighted that you decided to check us out. If you are looking for a church we invite you come worship with us. Worship is more than just attending a service. It's about becoming a part of a faith community. Pitts Chapel is a great place to belong and to become. We may be small, but we are big in heart. Reverend John Haney Bio
John grew up in Buford, Georgia. His is graduate of North Gwinnett High School, attended Reinhardt Universtiy, graduated from LaGrange College and Emory University.
He has served as a minister in the United Methodist Church for 40 plus years. He has served churches in Roopville, Americus, Glenville, Macon, Gray, and Savannah.
He has been married to Gale Wood for 35 years. They have two children, Beth Hickman who lives in Macon, and Matthew who lives in New York City. Beth is married to Cory Hickman and they have two sons, Cash and Mac.
John has been a Law Enforcement Chaplain for the past 21 years. He has served with the Jones County Sheriff's Department, and the Gray Police Department. He is currently serving again with the Jones County Sheriff's Department; he also serves as a State of Georgia Law Enforcement Chaplain under the Governor's Office and is a Chaplain for The Department of Natural Resources.
He has traveled extensively to the Lands of the Bible.
He loves traveling, reading, and spending time with his family.
